Each record will provide you with a transcript of the details found in the original parish records. The details in each transcript will vary. Early records, especially from the 16th and 17th centuries, noted only a few facts about the event. Later records will include more biographical details. In the transcripts you may find a combination of these facts:
Name
Sex
Birth year
Baptism year
Baptism date
Place
Father’s name
Mother’s name
Residence
County and country
Some of the records found in this collection have been created by the Leintwardine History Society from original records. Another portion of the collection comes from FamilySearch’s International Genealogical Index. The largest number of records come from Herefordshire’s county town, Hereford. The second largest group of baptism records are from Ross-on-Wye. For a full list of all the parishes represented in this collection, consult the Herefordshire parish lists available in the Useful links and resources section. You will also find records from some non-conformist parishes such as Hereford Baptist, Gorsley Particular Baptist, and Cwm Circuit Methodist.
